An additional project involving 2nd graders and high school students working together.
This STEM based project once again helped students better understand the process of production and assembly. Christine and Thomas, Engineering Technology students designed catapults that could be massed produced. These catapults were created so that second graders from Mary Ledford's class (Woodland Meadows) could assemble them without tools. The second graders launched masrhmallow to test their projects.
2nd graders and high school students working together.
This exciting project helped students better understand the process of production and assembly. Sarah Miller, an Engineering Technology student designed birdhouses that could be massed produced. These birdhouses were created so that second graders from Mary Ledford's class (Woodland Meadows) could assemble them without tools. The second graders then painted their birdhouses with their own creative designs!
This is the fourth such project, in the past students built lunch box alarms to combine reading and electricity, they wired light houses to combine Michigan history and electricity. And, students were able to assemble products manufactured by the high school students to better understand mass production, the assembly line, and Henry Ford's contribution to the process.
